Nature Coast Fishing Report – Apr 2026
Spring has sprung in the ‘Sassa! Nearshore, offshore or inshore it really doesn’t matter, wherever you are, the fish are chewing NOW!! Whatever you call them, Cobia, Brown Clowns, Lemonfish, Prodigal Son, Black Kingfish, Crabeater, or Mr. Brown Suit, they have begun their annual migration and have arrived here on Florida’s Nature Coast. Not only are they here but they are hungry too!! To battle one of these strong beasts is a memory, you’ll never forget! And what’s even better they are excellent table fare, my favorite way is blackened!! Come get your dose of “Cobia Fever” it’s an obsession!! If you ever wanted to catch one of these hard fighting pelagics now is the time! We still have a few openings left in May! Reserve your adventure below or give us a call. You won’t be disappointed!!

We usually target them over wrecks or other structure (rocks), and cover the entire water column with a combination of live baits, while we’re chumming and waiting for the chaos to begin. When it happens it is total chaos, even after you get them in the boat. There’s nothing more exciting than watching them slurp your bait as they’re swimming through the chum slick, so close to the boat you can almost touch them! We’ll put you on some fish, come over and feel the pain of these hard fighting fish!! Book your charter now to experience the epic “Cobia” battle!!

The 42nd Annual Cobia Big Fish Tournament is May 30th & 31st, this year. Held by the Kiwanis Club of Inverness at Crumps Landing, it’s our biggest tournament of the year here in Citrus County. IYKYK, last year with 15 minutes left until the weigh-in closed we were in FIRST PLACE! We wound up in THIRD and missed the top payout by 3.77 pounds. Come cheer us on this year, it will be great to see all of our family & friends!!
