“Red Eddie or Knot”
“Red Eddie or Knot”
“Red Eddie or Knot” – here I come! After five long months of waiting I finally took delivery of my new Young 24 a couple of weeks ago! If I’m dreaming don’t wake me up! The new Young 24 is everything I expected and more and no I haven’t slept on it yet. This vessel is equipped with the latest in technological advances and every modern convenience you can imagine, including a Porta-potty for the ladies, to make your day on the water comfortable and safe. The Young 24 has a smooth comfortable dry ride even in rough seas and can easily accommodate at least four anglers or six divers. This will be the nicest, sleekest, fastest, coolest, and classiest charter boat in all of Citrus County! The Young 24 will open up other opportunities and challenges, allowing me to do things that I wasn’t able to do with my Carolina Skiff like offshore Grouper or Cobia charters, Tarpon charters, Fly-Fishing charters, and Spearfishing charters. We will be adding a new page to our web-site, www.HomosassaRedfish.com, just for the new Young boat, including tons of pictures, soon. “Red Eddie or Knot” will have the “OH WOW” effect whether it’s here on Florida’s Nature Coast, Islamorada, Useppa Island or Mexico Beach! If you’re the type of person that likes to do things the right way or only wants the best of everything call today to reserve your charter on the red hottest boat in Old Homosassa!
The water temperatures have cooled down into the upper 70’s, the bait is everywhere and the predators are exploding the water in pursuit! On most days the Gulf of Mexico has been flat calm like a mirror which makes seeing the fish take your bait very possible. There’s nothing more exciting they seeing a fish attack your bait! Try drifting the pristine grass flats anywhere from the rocks off of Chassahowitzka Point to the south all the way north to Gomez Rocks and be ready for some drag screaming fun! We’ve had recent charters where we’ve caught 40 to 50 fish and 12 different species, including Gag Grouper, Cobia, Flounder, Gator Trout, Grunts, Sea Bass, Spanish Mackerel, Sharks, Bluefish and Mangrove Snapper. When the tides are right, I prefer to fish for Redfish on an incoming tide, the Redfish bite continues to be hot. Most of the Redfish being caught are between the slot limit of 18 to 27 inches and they are fat and full of Shrimp. Try any rocky shorelines or oyster bars between Mangrove Point and Fish Creek to fill your coolers with these tasty fillets. Remember here in the NW part of Florida, we’re allowed to keep two Redfish per day per person within the slot limit. If you haven’t fished with us before take advantage of our “Introductory Offer” of $299.00 for a full day charter for one to four anglers. This rate includes everything except your lunch, beverages and gratuity. The “Introductory Offer” is valid through November 30, 2012, only on our Carolina Skiff charters. The “Introductory Offer” will not be available next year or will not be offered on charters aboard our new Young Boat. Check our web-site at www.HomosassaRedfish.com for more details or to reserve your charter. For an added convenience to our guests we are now able to accept credit card payments at the dock. We only have a few prime dates left in October and November; book now to enjoy a day on the water in one of Florida’s last best fishing secrets.
As most of you know, I went to Turneffe Flats in Belize this past January and finally got the “Permit Monkey” off my back. After catching four Permit in six days, I actually acquired a new nickname, Permitt-Ed! I will be hosting another group back to Turneffe Flats, www.tflats.com, this coming January, departing on Saturday, 1/12/13 and returning the following Saturday, 1/19/13. Located on the Turneffe Atoll, the largest and most diverse coral atoll in the Caribbean, they specialize in superior service for a limited number of guests. For nearly three decades Turneffe Flats has been known as one of the Caribbean’s finest saltwater fly fishing destinations. The diversity of the saltwater flats fishing sets them apart from other destinations and the opportunity to catch bonefish, permit and tarpon on a given day makes Turneffe Flats one of the rare spots to pursue a “Flats Grand Slam”. The cost for this exciting adventure is $3680.00 per person based on double occupancy with two anglers per boat per day, plus airfare. As space is very limited, come join us and Be Pampered in Paradise! As she did last year, Judy Hall from Angler Adventures, www.angleradventures.com, 800-628-1447, will be handling all the arrangements. Or you can always reach me at 352-382-3939, if you have any questions or for more details. Let’s go CATCHING in Belize, Captain Red ED
